A few recent comments from our lovely customers!

We had our wedding at the F&G on Friday – it was fantastic! We fell in love with this beaut venue perched upon Pudding Pie Hill. Our guests did too – especially loving the view downhill towards town whilst enjoying their welcome drinks.
Sadie was fantastic before, during and after. Approachable and honest. She has this way of turning your ideas into a reality – however odd you think they may be. I was an absolute mess on the day, I have never felt as nervous or as on edge, Sadie was there every step of the way. I can’t thank her enough. Any questions I had on the run up she answered quickly and easily which is what every bride needs!
The food was also delicious! Everyone loved the hog roast and accompaniments. They also drew many compliments.
The organisation was spot on and everything was handled professionally. The staff make this place, everyone is so friendly. Shout out to Hackney boy Lawrence who helped us out on more than one occasion.
The venue is a quaint delight, the staff spot on and the food amazing. We could not have asked any more of the Fox and Goose. We will be back for food and drinks. Thank you xx

Absolutely faultless

My husband and I got married here a month ago and it was a truly magical day. A lot of this was down to Sadie our wedding co-ordinator and the friendly team at The Fox and Goose. From the moment we chose the venue, we were made to feel very welcome whenever we came for leisure or wedding prep purposes.

Sadie made us feel comfortable and confident about our special day. She helped to make us feel relaxed by answering all our questions big and small. The day before we left her with all of our carefully prepared decor which she used so well to create ‘our’ wedding and even added her own touches that gave it the ‘wow’ factor.

She really was our Fairy Godmother – she even went beyond the call of duty by redesigning my dress for the first dance.

Fox and Goose is a wonderful venue , I would recommend to any bride and groom. It has stunning views, delicious food and most importantly a warm, friendly atmosphere.

A Fairytale Wedding

The Fox and Goose is on Pudding Pie Hill… they tell you why it may be called that in their menu… and what a menu! There are some very interesting dishes available… I’m vegan so the chef very kindly ensured my menu was altered… but if you eat meat and dairy the choices are amazing. The portions are excellent and the chips are divine!

The place itself is really lovely… very comfortable with fab views. On warm days you can sit outside – there are plenty of tables out there too. The girls and guys who work there are really lovely – always smiling regardless of how busy they are. Nothing was too much trouble.

Will definitely go again… next sunny day I’m getting a taxi, ordering my food and eating outside, then enjoying the ambiance and the views with some cider!

(Oh! PS they do weddings there too… what a gorgeous place to get married…).

What a gem!

We celebrated our Ruby Wedding anniversary here last Friday lunch time. My daughters arranged everything. The staff were so professional. The setting was amazing and everyone commented on how good the food was. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion. We used the Orangery and although it was mainly adults my grandchildren enjoyed playing on the playground where we could see them. Guests individual dietary requirements were also very well catered for. Thank you for making it such a lovely celebration.

Amazing service, food and setting

We haven’t been to the Fox & Goose for a while but my daughter attended a wedding fair there and suggested we try it.
Two of us had the steak and fish and chips special with the bottle of wine and the others had scampi.
All the meals were delicious and reasonably priced.
My husband said it was the best steak he had had locally for a long while.
The chips were freshly cooked not frozen.
We didn’t have any room left for the desserts, but will go again soon hopefully to try them.
The staff are very friendly and efficient.

Lovely Meal

My now wife & I got married a year ago here, such a lovely place to be. The staff at the fox & goose made our day so so special it was lovely. We went back a year later for our anniversary for a meal which was out of this world, the food is gorgeous the beers are great the setting is wonderful. we will definitely be back very soon. Thank you so much for your lovely hospitality.

Wedding day

Lovely open fire the meals and the service 1st class (our son was happy to see the Buffalo burger back on the menu) good selection of real ale and a large selection of wines staff excellent always get a nice welcome feeling all the staff take time to greet you especially Tristan and Lynne. The loos were warm and fresh smelling (my pet hate is walking into a cold smelly toilet and there are quite a few pubs that have this problem) just one gripe no hand cream in the gents us chaps do have delicate hands too. Will definitely be back looking forward to the summer drinks out on the terrace.

Decided last minute to go for dinner before the cinema glad we chose the Fox and Goose

Came here New Years Eve for a meal which excelled in every way, a return visit tonight for the steak night which yet again has excelled. The staff, food and surroundings are the best for many a mile. Will be back again for more. Can’t wait for the summer to sit outside and take in the wonderful views.

Marvellous in every way
